Le Recensement 2017 est le premier recensement d'envergure nationale menée par l'OFNARE entre juillet et octobre 2017. Ses résultats sont publiés le 14 novembre 2017.
Les chiffres sont majoritairement mis à jours par rapport à 2010 et la mise en place des Localités à cette date. Entre 2010 et 2013, l'évolution totale de la population n'est due qu'à une mise à jour des chiffres pour Aarosia en 2011, puis en 2013.

Remarques
Le recensement 2017 a été le premier recensement mené depuis l'établissement des Localités en 2010. La majorité des chiffres, à part pour Aarosia, n'avaient pas été revus depuis cette années ou alors à de rares occasions sur des lieux précis et définis mais pas sur la totalité des localités. Aussi, des questions sur la langue parlée, mais également l'appartenance religieuse ont été menées.
On remarque que le colvinisme progresse partout dans le pays alors que le storaltisme se maintient dans ses bastions historiques mais décroit ailleurs. La raison est probablement dûe à une force politique storaltiste ayant progressivement disparu de l'échiquier politique mais également de par l'affaiblissement de la Cité des Glace au fil des ans et la volonté jusqu'en 2016, de s'affilier à une religion anti-zollernoise, à savoir le Colvinisme. Toutefois, Flossenberg montre une augmentation sensible des Zorthodoxes, probablement après la fin de la «guerre froide» avec le Zollernberg. Cette augmentation zorthodoxe s'est faite au détriment du colvinisme, alors que le storaltisme s'est très bien maintenu dans le village. On remarque aussi une sensible augmentation de la population plutôt équitable entre toutes les localités.
Les centres urbains sont également plus attractifs et on voit une concentration des nouvelles populations arrivantes privilégiant les centres urbains aux villages et hameaux.
À noter que les chiffres de 2013 pour le recensement à Aarosia sont confirmés: près de la moitié des habitants d'Aarosia ne possèdent pas la nationalité scanthéloise.
Enfin, Doux-Rivage et Flossenberg ont une population significative mais minoritaire parlant à la maison une autre langue officielle que le français ou le scanténois, à savoir le valdiske pour la première et le zollernois pour la seconde.
